Sierra Animal Hospital Launches           Pet Portal!

Sierra Animal Hospital, Cochise County's only seven day a week veterinary hospital has launched a “pet portal” service to allow pet owners to take control of their pets medical information and preventative care online for free.

“Pet Portal is a bit like Facebook for your pet and their medical records – a private heath care website for each owners individual pets,” said Mike Falconer, the Hospital Administrator at Sierra Animal Hospital. “Pet portal allows owners to look up their pet's records, research medical topics, refill medications and communicate with the Hospital.”

The Pet Portal works by connecting every evening to Sierra Animal Hospital's practice management software and uploading any new information such as procedure performed or vaccines given. Pet Portal also allows owners to set up their own reminders and research life stage issues directly associate with their pet. “The nice thing about Pet Portal is that it empowers pet owners to get involved with their pet's medical records and health issues,” said Associate Veterinarian Dr. Jody Moffett. “Pet Portal gives pet owners access to the kind of information that we have here but in a user friendly, customizable format.”

Clients of Sierra Animal Hospital just have click on the Pet Portal button Sierra Animal Hospital's website which can be found on any page. Clients can they request a login, which are returned within 24 hours, normally a lot sooner, once their identity has been verified.

Sierra Animal Hospital now open 14 hours, 7 days a week

12/28/09

Sierra Animal Hospital has extended its opening hours again to better serve the pets and their owners of Cochise county. Starting December 21st , Sierra Animal Hospital will be open from 7:30AM till 9:30PM seven days a week.

“We started to experiment with longer opening hours earlier this year,” said Dr. David Bone, the owner of Sierra Animal Hospital. “We added being open till 9:30PM on Saturday because their seemed to be a need because of the call volume were receiving after we had closed. Due to the success of late opening on Saturday evenings and our seven day a week policy we decided that 9:30PM every day was the way to go.”

Sierra Animal Hospital earlier this month launch what it believes is southern Arizona's only pet ambulance service. “Our medical transport and emergency response services dove tail with our extended opening hours,” remarked Sierra Animal Hospital's Practice Manager Mike Falconer. “It is all part of the same plan to provide superior services to pet owners. All of the doctors and staff here are pet owners, and we all work long hours – our services and our extended hours are just trying to make it easier for owners to get to the vet and for pets to get the medial treatment they need.”

Sierra Animal Hospital Will be closed on Christmas Day and will lose at 5:30PM on Christmas Eve and New Years Eve, however it will be open on New Year's Day from 7:30AM till 5:30PM.
